Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley and Marine Safety Unit Paducah, Kentucky continue to work alongside partner agencies by providing overflights to monitor areas affected by flooding and high water in the Midwest floods.
Air crews perform a vital function during responses, as they are able to get a birds-eye view of affected areas, while simultaneously having the ability to affect rescues if need be. This overflight monitored the area on the Mississippi River near Cape Girardeau.
