Redding PG&E worker killed on the job

REDDING, Calif. -
A PG&E worker from Redding was killed on the job Wednesday.
According to a statement from his union, IBEW 1245, 40-year-old lineman Cliff Bengs died while working as an electric crew foreman. He had worked for PG&E for 13 years.
The rigging accident happened Wednesday in Redding. PG&E has not confirmed the exact time and location of the accident.
Bengs is survived by his wife and two young children.

"Cliff Bengs was the best man I've ever known. He was the best husband, father, friend and co-worker that anyone has ever known," Beng's best friend and former coworker Aaron Teuscher said in a statement to KRCR News Channel 7. "He was a man's man. He went to work to work hard. He was a 200 percenter; 100 percent to his family and 100 percent to his job."
"Cliff was a mentor to everyone in the lineman trade. There are so many people that admired and respected him on and off the job," said Teuscher. "He was a man of few words but when he spoke, everyone listened. Being a husband to Norie and a father to Gillian and Ethan were his number one priority."
PG&E issued a written statement regarding the accident:
"One of the members of our PG&E family was fatally injured while on the job yesterday in Redding CA. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our employee's family, friends and coworkers. Right now our immediate priority is offering assistance to the employees family and coworkers."
