Devastated by this terrible loss': Fire destroys golf clubhouse

LEBANON, Ore. –
Judy Magana arrived early Tuesday morning to see for herself.
"Oh my God. I mean, it's gone," she said of the clubhouse at Mallard Creek Golf Course. "Everything is gone in there."
Firefighters say an electrical malfunction late Monday night ignited the blaze that ripped through the building, doing an estimated $1.3 million in damage.
A call reporting a fire in the dining room came in to 911 at 11:27 p.m., the Lebanon Fire Department said.
The first crews on scene found flames through the roof of the building.
Firefighters worked to supply enough water to battle the fire.
The 3-alarm fire was under control by 2 a.m. and mostly out by 7:55 a.m., the fire department said.
It was one of two large fires to which Lebanon firefighters responded overnight.
Lebanon also assisted Scio Fire with a 2-alarm fire in a 30 by 50 storage shed on Providence School Road. Firefighters were on scene there for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
At Mallard Creek, the investigation into what caused the 2-story, 10,000 square foot building to burn started Tuesday morning.
And for patrons of Mallard Creek, the work of processing what had happened was just beginning, too.
"This is our second home. We love this place," Magana said. "It's a wonderful place to come. I'm just devastated by this terrible loss."
