 EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An anhydrous ammonia leak at Farm Boy Service in Evansville has been contained.

According to the Evansville-Vanderburgh Emergency Management Agency, police responded to what they thought was a drug lab, but instead found a 150 pound tank leaking anhydrous ammonia.

First responders and a hazmat team immediately evacuated all residents two blocks south of the building on North Kentucky Avenue.

The leak has stopped and the tank has been secured. The EMA says air quality levels were good as of Thursday afternoon.

Seven police officers and five firefighters were potentially exposed to the chemical.

Two officers were taken to the hospital. The firefighters were evaluated on scene.
