A 21-year-old Alakanuk resident died as the result of an ATV crash on Tuesday night, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Their investigation revealed that Cecila Chikigak was traveling at a high rate of speed on a roadway near the Alakanuk city office, an online dispatch said.
She reportedly collided with a metal shipping container and was thrown from her ATV. Troopers said she died on impact.
Chikigak’s next of kin has been notified, the dispatch said. Her body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
