Funeral arrangements have been made for a Steuben County teenager who died after an all-terrain vehicle she was on collided with a tractor.

Jenna D. Miller, 13, of Troupsburg, was airlifted to St. James Hospital in Hornell following a motor vehicle crash Thursday, a news release said. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home is handling arrangements for a private funeral and burial.

State police in Hornell responded around 6:36 p.m. to a crash on Miller Road in Troupsburg.

Miller and 12-year-old Elizabeth Jones, of Campbell, attempted to cross Miller Road on an ATV from the south, police said, when the operator failed to stop and drove directly into the path of a tractor, striking the tractor’s bucket.

Police said both occupants were ejected, and it is unclear who was driving the all-terrain vehicle. The investigation remains open.

Jones was air lifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with massive trauma. As of Saturday morning, she was in guarded condition.

The operator of the tractor was uninjured, the release said.

Miller, who was born in Corning, is survived by her parents, Jolynn Southard and Daniel Miller. The 13-year-old was preparing to enter eighth grade in the Jasper-Troupsburg Central School District. She attended Austinburg Baptist Church in Austinburg, Pennsylvania, and enjoyed amusement parks, camping and spending time with friends, her obituary said.
