Northern Michigan woman dies after ATV crash, alcohol believed to be a factor

OSCEOLA COUNTY, MI -- An all-terrain vehicle crash in Evart Township left one woman dead on Saturday, said Michigan State Police.
Chastity Nandine Naranjo, 45, of Evart, was riding on the rear of an ATV that rolled over while riding near a sand pit on private property by 90th Avenue and 1 Mile Road.
Naranjo sustained multiple injuries and died while being airlifted to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
The ATV driver, Richelle Lynn Root, 30, of Fallbrook, California, had no injuries, police said.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident, and police said that neither Naranjo nor Root were wearing helmets.
