Oil Leak Detected at Jean Gaulin Refinery

A leak originating from a crude oil tank has been detected at the Lévis Jean Gaulin Refinery during a routine inspection conducted earlier today. Presently, it is not possible to determine the volume of product leaking from the tank. The situation remains under control since the Valero Energy team is currently working to recover the spilled product. The leak is contained in a safety barricade surrounding the reservoir. Valero Energy's teams are in the process of transferring the leaking tank's content to another crude oil tank.
The Quebec Government Department of sustainable development and fight against climate change (MDDELCC) as well as the City of Lévis have been advised.
