Three separate boating accidents on Lake Hudson and Grand
Lake on Saturday have claimed the lives of two people and sent 12 people to
Grove and Tulsa hospitals, said Grand River Dam Authority Police Chief Brian
Edwards.
A boating accident on the Duck Creek arm of Grand Lake
around 2:30 p.m. left one person dead and sent three people to the Integris
Grove Hospital, he said. One person was treated at the scene, Edwards said.
A second accident involving a boat fire around 5:30 p.m. at
Tera Miranda Marina Resort on Grand Lake sent six people to Integris Grove
Hospital. Three other people were flown by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital, he
said.
On Lake Hudson, a fatal accident occurred around 6:30 p.m.
near the Oklahoma 82 bridge, Edwards said.
Names are being withheld pending notification of family
members, he said.

Members of the Grand River Dam Authority Lake Patrol
are investigating two separate boating incidents taking place on Saturday, July
4, on Grand Lake and Lake Hudson, each resulting in a fatality .
At approximately 2::20 p.m. GRDA officers responded
to a boating incident in the back of the Duck Creek arm of Grand Lake,
according to a release issued by Justin Alberty, corporate communications
director for GRDA.
Alberty said the incident, which remains under
investigation, resulted in one fatality on the boat and three others
transported to INTEGRIS Grove Hospital.
One other passenger on the boat was treated and released at
the scene.
No other details are available at this time.
In a separate incident, GRDA officials responded on Saturday
evening to a single vessel boating incident on the upper reaches of Lake
Hudson, near the Highway 82 bridge, south of Langley.
Alberty said that incident also resulted in one
fatality.
At this time, investigations of both incidents continue and
no other details are available. Alberty said more information will be released
as the investigations continue.
Additionally, On Saturday late afternoon, GRDA officers
responded to a boat fire at Tera Miranda on Grand Lake.
Alberty said that incident resulted in six people being
transported to INTEGRIS Grove Hospital and three others transported via
helicopter to Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. The investigation into that
incident is also ongoing.
