Reckless 18-wheeler crashes into South Side bridge in San Antonio, Texas, spills milk, food over road

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Crews have been working for hours to clean a truckload of food products ranging from milk to hotdogs after an 18-wheeler slammed into a bridge on the South Side Monday morning.

According to police, a truck headed south struck a railroad overpass on South St. Mary’s Street just before Roosevelt Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

The impact shredded the vehicle’s trailer and sent an assortment of merchandise tumbling into the street.

Officers said the driver of the truck was not injured, however, the food products being towed were considered contaminated and will be disposed of.
