Fiery crash on Southern State Parkway in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY

BAY SHORE (WABC) -- 

 

Flames engulfed a car after an accident early Sunday morning on the Southern State Parkway in Bay Shore, causing major problems for drivers.

Police say it was a two-car accident, with one of the cars crossing a grassy median that separates two lanes of traffic.

There is no word yet on the severity of injuries.

The Southern State westbound was shut down for hours at Bay Shore Road near Exit 41 but has since reopened.
