MILWAUKEE, WI
Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in the 6300 block of W. Appleton Avenue.
The accident occurred early Saturday morning, July 4th at approximately 2:40 a.m.
Police say a Dodge Durango SUV, driven by a 41-year-old man, was speeding while traveling eastbound on W. Appleton Avenue.
The SUV left the roadway and collided with a large planter.
Authorities say a passenger, a 32-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver was arrested for OWI homicide and the Milwaukee Police Department will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
