UNION CITY, N.J. (WABC) --
A woman was struck and killed by a dump truck in New Jersey Tuesday morning.The dump truck was making a right turn on a service road in Union City when it struck the woman who was on foot.
A Port Authority spokesman said she was hit on North Marginal Highway on the 495 west service road at Park Avenue. First responders started CPR on the victim and she was taken to Jersey City Medical Center in serious condition, where she died a short time later.
Port Authority Police are investigating. The service road is closed and traffic being detoured.
This is near the New Jersey side of the Lincoln Tunnel, but it is not affecting New Jersey-bound traffic.
