A 16-year-old boy died in an ATV crash in rural DeKalb County Sunday night, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
Emergency responders were called to the 6900 block of County Road 19 shortly before 9 p.m. and found that a teenager on an ATV had collided with a tree and was thrown from the vehicle.
Police and paramedics performed CPR to the victim at the scene, who was later transported to a Fort Wayne hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators said the boy was not wearing a helmet. His name has not been released.
The incident is under investigation by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
