Family injured in hit-and-run boat crash
A family’s weekend on the lake ended abruptly with injuries and thousands of dollars in damage to their boat. The person who caused the collision took off, leaving the victims with no information.
According to Progressive Insurance, they see more boat claims during the Fourth of July weekend than any other three-day period in the year.
Last weekend, the Austin Police Department arrested two people for boating while intoxicated as of Operation Dry Water — an initiative to cut down on boating while intoxicated. Another 13 citations and 31 warnings were issued.
Do not drink and drive a boat - otherwise, you are looking for some trouble.
