NEW YORK, N.Y. —
Police say an 83-year-old man was run over by a dump truck in Manhattan's Chinatown.
The accident happened at about 1 p.m. Friday.
Police say Ka Chor Yau was crossing Canal Street when he was hit by dump truck traveling west from the Manhattan Bridge.
The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The driver of the dump truck, 24-year-old Maykel Felix-Tejada, of Paterson, New Jersey, was arrested on a charge of aggravated unlicensed driving.
It wasn't clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
