Police investigate a fatal crash in Oceanside.
OCEANSIDE, Calif.
A 7-year-old girl died Sunday after getting hit by a truck in Oceanside.
Oceanside police reported the crash at Mission Avenue at Frontier Drive near the swap meet around 2 p.m. Sunday. The girl was taken to Tri-City Hospital, where she died, police said.
Investigators said the child and her family were attempting to cross Mission Avenue outside of the crosswalk when the Toyota Tundra hit the girl.
The driver of the truck will not face charges as the crash was an accident, according to police. Drugs and alcohol are not a factor in the crash, police said.
Police did not release the names of the people involved in the deadly crash.
