NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) –

Two workers were injured when a ceiling collapsed in Midtown Friday morning.

The incident took place at around 10:15 a.m. at Madison Avenue near 42nd Street.

As 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported, the 24-story building is slated for demolition.

In the course of the work going on inside, the second floor ceiling collapsed onto two workers.

They were rushed to Bellevue Hospital with serious injuries.

As WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond reported, the entrance of the building was rigged with caution tape as investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration surveyed the accident scene.

This isn’t the first time workers at the building have been injured, Papa reported.

Another incident occurred in April on the 43rd Street side of the building. Four workers were injured in that incident.
