PICTURES SHOW CORRODED PIPELINE RESPONSIBLE FOR SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA MASSIVE OIL SPILL

JUNE 11, 2015

This week, pictures of the badly corroded pipeline responsible for spilling more than 100,000 gallons of oil along the south coast were finally released.
Crews say the hole around leak site has grown substantially, which has made removing the pipe easier.

Fish and Wildlife removed and inspected the damaged section of the pipe.

A report released last week said the pipe was badly corroded, which degraded the pipe wall thickness.

Plains All American says the rupture appeared to be about eight inches long.
