The Lucas County Coroner's office says a Whitehouse man drowned following a kayaking accident in the Maumee River Wednesday.
William Fish, 54, was rescued from the west side of Granger Island near Waterville along with another man Wednesday evening.
Fire
crews say Fish's kayak overturned in the fast churning Maumee, which is
overflowing from weekend rains. Fish was taken to St. Luke's Hospital
where he died early Thursday morning.
The other person kayaking was not injured.
