The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man has died after his vehicle crashed into a crane near El Reno Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday emergency crews were called to Mile Marker 125 along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Highway 81 after an SUV crashed into the back of a crane that was on the shoulder of the interstate.

The OHP says it is currently unclear why the driver of the SUV hit the crane.
A large number of accidents occur near work zones, especially during the summer months. It is sad that people lose their lives this way.
