Alaska State Troopers and the National Transportation Safety
Board responded to a low-altitude midair collision with injuries at the
Talkeetna Airport Sunday evening.
Clint Johnson, the NTSB’s Alaska chief, said the incident was reported to the NTSB at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Paul Roderick, the operations director for Talkeetna Air
Taxi, told Channel 2 that one of the company's aircraft with four passengers
plus a pilot on board was involved in the crash.
The aircraft was about to land
after a Denali flightseeing trip when it collided with a plane flown by a
student pilot from Anchorage.
Roderick said the planes were just a few feet off the ground
at the time of impact. Only the student pilot was injured, with everyone on
board the Talkeetna Air Taxi plane unharmed.
AST spokeswoman Megan Peters couldn't confirm many details about the crash Sunday night, pending further word from troopers on-site.
“There were two planes that hit midair, but they were really close to the ground so there’s just injuries,” Peters said.
