Emergency crews responded to the Route 4 overpass of
Interstate 55 in Macoupin County, Illinois after a construction worker fell off
of the overpass onto concrete near the shoulder.
News 4 crews saw an ARCH medical helicopter land at the
scene around 4:40 Tuesday. Authorities said the man fell onto some concrete
near the shoulder before the wood scaffolding he was working on fell onto his
head. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Both lanes of the interstate were closed for a period of
time. Traffic was redirected onto Route 4.
