WICHITA, KANSAS

A night with several serious wrecks across Kansas included the death of a 16-year-old boy in Elk County.

State troopers say Damon Wilson of Howard drove a truck which attempted to pass another vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday on K-99. A tire ruptured, making the truck roll over several times.

Two other teenagers in the truck were seriously hurt, and flown to Wichita for treatment.

In Trego County, three people were seriously hurt Tuesday night when their van went out of control and rolled. That occurred at 9;00 p.m. on a county road five miles northeast of WaKeeney.

People from Hawaii, Ohio and Texas had to be flown to hospitals. Two went to Wichita, while one went to Kearney, Nebraska.

A motorcyclist in southwest Wichita went out of control at 47th and South Seneca Tuesday night. He fell over, and was taken to a hospital.

A police supervisor tells KAKE News the unnamed man is in "serious but stable condition." He added the biker may have slid while turning.
