The accident happened on Yonge Street at Royal Orchard
Boulevard at around 7:30 a.m.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing the truck
driving erratically at a high rate of spee.
A York Region Transit bus and a truck that were involved in
a fatal collision in Thornhill Thursday morning are shown in this aerial photo.
The 25-year-old male driver of the truck was pronounced dead
on scene. The driver of the bus and several passengers also suffered minor
injuries.
Yonge Street has been closed in both directions between
Centre Street and Royal Orchard Boulevard as police investigate.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident
to come forward.
