UPDATE 2:15 a.m.: Colorado Springs Fire Department
says 10 cars overturned in the derailment. The ammonia fertilizer in its
current form is stable. No contamination to the water supply or soil was
detected. A clean-up crew will begin work at 3:30 a.m. and should take
four to six hours to complete. No evacuations were necessary during the
incident; however, 70 residents received emergency notifications to remain
indoors. Some power lines were reportedly knocked down, but there were no
power outages reported by Colorado Springs Utilities.

ammonia fertilizer. Colorado Springs Fire Department said there are no injuries
reported and no evacuations yet.

Colorado Springs Police and Fire crews are responding to a
train derailment with train fire that happened around 10:30 Sunday night in the
area of Baltic St and the 900 block of S. Sierra Madre.
Multiple train cars are flipped over and streets are Sierra Madre, Baltic and Conejos streets are all closed due to the accident. It is not known if there are injuries or what caused the crash.
There are unconfirmed reports that the train cars were carrying ammonia, and that power lines are down. Hazmat is on scene.
