ROOF OF PSE&G BUILDING IN SECAUCUS, NEW JERSEY CATCHES HUGE FIRE DURING REPAIR WORK USING A WELDING TORCH

MARCH 18, 2015

SECAUCUS, NEW JERSEY

The PSE&G building on County Avenue in Secaucus has caught fire this morning.
The fire, which started just after 9 a.m., appears to have been contained to the roof, where repair work was being done, PSE&G spokeswoman Deann Muzikar said this morning.

Muzikar did not immediately know what type of repair work was being done, but there was welding of pipes and fixing of the leaking roog using a welding torch. She said everyone was safely evacuated from the building, which Muzikar said is one of the gas and electric company's electric divisions.

The Jersey City Fire Department also responded to the blaze, which appeared to be under control by 9:25 a.m.
