Emergency crews responded after a plane went down in
Montgomery County Tuesday morning.
Dispatchers said the plane crashed just south of New Market.
No injuries were reported. The initial call came in around 11:05 a.m.
Officials at the Crawfordsville Municipal Airport said the
plan went down about a mile and a half south of the facility in a nearby bean
field. The closest roads were County Road 600 South and County Road 100 West.
Crews from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department,
Crawfordsville Police Department, Crawfordsville Fire Department and New Market
Volunteer Fire Department responded.
Crews on the scene told FOX59 that two people walked away
from the crash unhurt. The pilot and passenger didn’t need any medical
attention. Of course they would refuse
help. Crash victims are in shock and
they always say that things are alight – but they aren’t.
The FAA will investigate the crash.
