A 26-year-old woman was killed instantly when the car she
was driving collided with a garbage truck near Hudsonville.
Authorities said the car was traveling north on 48th Avenue
when it crossed the center line and hit an oncoming garbage truck near New
Holland Road in Blendon Township around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
Police suspect she was driving home from work. It’s unclear
what caused the woman to cross the center line.
Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.
48th Avenue between New Holland and Barry Street was closed
for several hours following the crash, but was re-opened just before 11 a.m.,
according to Ottawa County Dispatch.
