CHILD DIES AFTER ROLLOVER CRASH ON I-75 NEAR PALMETTO, FLORIDA. THE DRIVER 24-YEAR-OLD SHAMEKA JONES, IS NOW FACING DUI MANSLAUGHTER, INJURY AND SERIOUS INJURY CHARGES.

A two-year-old boy is dead and a baby clinging to life after a crash on I-75.




It happened just before 5 PM on Saturday, in the northbound lanes near Moccasin Wallow Road in Palmetto.




According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford Explorer hit the shoulder of the road, causing it to rollover a few times, striking several trees.




Three adults and nine children were inside the car at the time of the crash. 

None of the children were restrained.  A two-year-old boy inside the car died and a six-month-old is in serious condition at All Children's Hospital. All three adults are also in serious condition ta Bayfront Medical Center.




The driver 24-year-old Shameka Jones, is now facing DUI manslaughter, DUI injury (9 counts) and DUI serious injury charges.
