MARCH 12, 2015

MOORESVILLE, N.C.

Five people, including three responding officers, are receiving treatment following a HazMat situation in Mooresville Thursday morning.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday, emergency first responders were called to a home in the 100 block of Cinebar Road in Mooresville on reports of a seizure.

Mooresville Police say a car was left running in the closed garage, apparently all night, causing a build up of carbon monoxide.

Authorities say the three responding officers were overcome upon entering the residence, but were able to pull one unresponsive victim from the home.

Officers noticed a funny smell inside the home and report feeling symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure and called the fire department for assistance; the fire department pulled the second victim, who was vomiting profusely, from the home.

The two female occupants, mother and daughter, were taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Three responding officers were also transported for treatment; NBC Charlotte's crew on scene reports the officers are receiving oxygen treatments, and are expected to be okay.

A man, who was found outside of the home, was also taken to the hospital for treatment; it's not clear the extent of his injuries.
