SCHOOL BUS CRASH: SEMI-TRUCK DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE LOST CONTROL, VEERED INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND PUSHED AT LEAST ONE VEHICLE AND THE SCHOOL BUS INTO A GUARDRAIL

JACKSON, MI
(WLNS) – Traffic was backed up for miles Wednesday afternoon following a crash
involving a school bus and three other vehicles along I-94.
It happened
around 2 p.m. Wednesday on I-94 eastbound, after US-127 at Lansing Avenue.
The school
bus is from Madison School District, which is in Adrian. Michigan State Police
Lt. Kyle Bowman said about 45 children will be taken to the Blackman-Leoni
Public Safety Dept. when another bus arrives.
Lt. Bowman
said there are no serious injuries, but one person was injured.
A witness
of the crash said a semi-truck driving in the left lane lost control, veered
into the right lane and pushed at least one vehicle and the school bus into a
guardrail. The witness, Robert Blacklock of Grass Lake recalls the semi-truck
“kind of got sucked into the snow.”

Another
crash happened about an hour later along I-94 east near M-60. One person was
pinned into their car in the crash.

(WLNS) – About one hour after a crash involving a school bus shut down a
portion of I-94 E, a second crash shut down even more of I-94.
The second
crash happened around 3:04 p.m. Wednesday on I-94 E at exit 136, which goes to
the M-60 business loop. There were five vehicles involved in the wreck, that’s
according to our media partners at the Jackson Citizen Patriot.
Blackman-Leoni
Twp. Public Safety Deputy Director Jon Johnston said two people were injured.
Johnston says it’s possible the injuries are serious. One person was pinned
inside a vehicle.
