Newington police are asking for the public's help in
locating the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a crash which killed a
New Britain woman.
Police said the accident occurred at the intersection of
Willard and Robbins avenues shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.
Officers said a vehicle being driven by 51-year-old Sonya
Atkins was struck by a red pick-up truck. The driver of the truck fled
the scene on foot before police arrived.
Atkins was rushed to an area hospital were she died from her
injuries.
Witnesses told police the male driver was last seen wearing
a backwards baseball hat.
Police said the same truck was also involved in a crash at
the Puerto Vallarta restaurant just prior. The driver also fled that
crash.

dark-red/maroon Ford F-150 is asked to contact the Newington Police Department
