One person was
killed Wednesday morning in a collision between an 18-wheeler and a pickup in
Bryant.
The Bryant Police
Department said 18-wheeler was southbound on Springhill Road just north of
Hilltop Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. when it collided with the northbound
pickup "partially head-on."
The pickup driver
died at the scene. The truck driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries
not believed to be life-threatening.
The names of the
drivers haven't been released.
It wasn't clear
what caused the wreck or which vehicle crossed the center line. The pickup and
the truck each ended up off the side of the road with heavy front-end damage.
Springhill Road was
blocked in both directions for several hours while crews investigated the
scene.
