A woman has been killed in a fire in Holiday City,
Berkeley Township. (January 9, 2015 10:49 PM)
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that
a woman was killed in a fire in Berkeley Township.
The fire started at around 9:15 a.m. on Encinitas Drive
in the Holiday City section of town, which is a retirement community.
Neighbor Joseph Porzio tells News 12 New Jersey
that he and other neighbors tried to get inside to help the woman.
“There was a loud boom and then the house engulfed in
flames.
The prosecutor’s office, township police and the fire
marshal were all investigating the fire Friday night, Della Fave said
