TWO FATAL CRASHES IN MONROE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
(POCONOS)

MONROE COUNTY, PA – A Stroudsburg woman was killed Thursday
afternoon in a crash on Route 191 in Stroud Township.
Police say Melanie Bond, 53, lost control of her car, which
veered into the oncoming lane and was struck by a pickup truck.
Bond was dead at the scene
The driver of the pickup was taken to Pocono Medical
Center. His name and condition were not available.
Authorities have identified the victim of an unrelated
accident, Wednesday night, in Pocono Township.
Nathan Gore, 24, of New York City, was a passenger in a car
that went out of control on Cherry Lane Church Road. The car struck rocks
and a utility pole.
Gore and another passenger were ejected. Gore was dead
at the scene.
It is sad to see this loss of life. The Pennsylvania roads, especially the wavy, slippery, steep, etc ones are notoriously difficult to drive on. Pennsylvania (one of our favorite states, with great land and great people) is unfortunately in the top five states in terms of traffic deaths. Be careful when you drive there as there are minimal signs and many roads are in bad shape. As the locals say, the state motto is: "Pennsylvania, find us if you can".
