The Hoegh Osaka contains a number of cranes, aerial lifts and telehandlers including 105 JCB machines destined for dealers in the Middle East.
The Hoegh Osaka reportedly started listing shortly after it set sail from the Port of Southampton on Saturday evening. The captain and the Pilot then decided to ground it on the sandbank in order to prevent it sinking and blocking the entrance to the port. There are more than 1,000 cars on board as well as all the construction equipment.
