SAN DIEGO — A large car-carrier truck, with at least eight vehicles on board, apparently overturned on Interstate 15 in Mission Valley Sunday, and one of its cargo rolled over the center divider and landed on the other side of the median.

The truck flipped on the northbound 15 north of Interstate 8 shortly after noon, according to the California Highway Patrol. A gray sedan fell out of the transport trailer, crashed across the median and landed in the southbound lanes.

A tow truck loads a car that fell off a car-carrier truck on Interstate 15 in Mission Valley.
Authorities called tow trucks to remove the carrier truck with its three vehicles, the wrecked sedan and the truck’s trailer, which was carrying five vehicles and which had completely detached from the tractor.

No one was hurt.

The roadway was cleared by 12:55 p.m., and Caltrans crews were notified that the center divider will need repairs.
