NORTH PHILADELPHIA- Five people were injured early Monday morning after a serious accident involving a police cruiser. Two police officers were injured as a result of the three car crash.

The crash occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. after police responded to a shooting on the 2900 block of Cumberland Street.

Police responded to the call to find a 24-year-old male shooting victim, who was shot in the legs 3 times.

According to the police, the officers put the shooting victim in their cruiser, and activated the cruisers lights and sirens, and began to transport him to Temple University Hospital.

En route to the hospital the cruiser was struck by a Lexus Sedan at 25th and Lehigh Streets. The impact of that collision then sent the cruiser into another collision with a Chevy Camaro.

Both of the officers and the shooting victim were transported to Temple University Hospital. All three of them are in stable condition

Neither the driver of the Lexus or the Camaro had driver's licenses, and both escaped with minor injuries.
