WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) --

Wilmington authorities say ice is to blame for sending a city fire truck into a home Tuesday morning.

It was around 9:00 a.m. when fire crews responded to a nine vehicle accident at Oak and Franklin streets.

Fire officials say while parked at the accident scene, at the top of a hill on Oak Street, the unmanned fire truck began to slide down the iced roadway.

The fire apparatus first struck a parked vehicle, and then a home on the 1200 block of Oak Street.

The woman who lives on the first floor is getting new accommodations from her landlord until the house can be fixed.

Wilmington Fire Chief Anthony Goode tells Action News it's fortunate the fire truck only hit one car and no one was seriously hurt.

One woman suffered minor injuries in the initial pileup. Firefighters say she was treated at a local hospital.

The city has not yet answered why this road wasn't treated.
