DISABLED MAN DIES IN EARLY
MORNING FIRE IN PORTERVILLE, CALIFORNIA

Porterville, California:
A small apartment fire at 90 N. F St. in Porterville claimed
the life of man who neighbors said was disabled and unable to flee.
The blaze, reported just before 8:30 a.m., completely gutted
the small individual apartment.
Attempts by neighbors, police officers and
firefighters to rescue the man were to no avail.
No other apartments in the dead-end street were damaged and
firefighters said they would be on the scene for several hours investigating
the cause of the blaze.
F Street was closed at Willow Avenue.
