ANN ARBOR, MI

Two men were injured after the work truck they were in struck a railroad overpass in Ann Arbor Friday.

The stump removal truck was headed eastbound on Felch Street west of North Ashley around 1 p.m. when it crashed into the overpass, totaling the truck, according to Ann Arbor fire Battalion Chief Robert Vogel.

The driver and passenger, both men, required medical treatment and Huron Valley Ambulance was at the scene.

The passenger suffered head and facial injuries when he hit the windshield during the impact.

Vogel said the truck hit the 11-foot 10-inch overpass so hard that rivets were dislodged and discovered down the street.

The Ann Arbor Railroad Company had to be called out to inspect the bridge. Felch was expected to be closed for hours Friday afternoon.
