1 HURT IN HEAD-ON
COLLISION BETWEEN A VEHICLE AND AN 18-WHEELER IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

A head-on collision on Farm-to-Market Road 236 and
Arnold Road involving a vehicle and a tractor-trailer sent one person with
serious injuries to University Hospital San Antonio early Friday
.
A driver and one passenger in a vehicle were traveling
south about 1 a.m. when it collided with a tractor-trailer traveling north,
according to Battalion Chief Roger Hempel.
One of the occupants in the vehicle was trapped and
needed to be removed by emergency personnel before he was airlifted to the San
Antonio hospital, Hempel said.
The other occupant refused treatment at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
Names of those involved was not available Friday.
Victoria Fire Department, the Department of Public
Safety and Victoria County Sheriff's Office responded, and all units left the
scene about 3 a.m., Hempel said
