The construction
of any energy-related project is regulated by FERC. There are some strict procedures that must be
followed during the planning, design, installation and maintenance of the
energy infrastructure. Of course we know
that the feds have been sleeping at the wheel for some of these projects, especially
the pipeline ones. Only after the
explosions and leaks and fires started happening did they force the pipeline
companies to replace the pipelines and upgrade their design and construction standards.
