Fikes delivery driver killed after he was pinned between his Fikes box truck and a building wall he had struck in the Alderwood Mall Parkway in Lynnwood, WA







LYNNWOOD, WA — A 26-year-old man working for Fikes who was rescued Tuesday after being pinned between a box truck and a building has died from his injuries.

The man from Federal Way was making a delivery to a business in the 16900 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. His truck struck a wall around 1:40 p.m.

The man’s co-workers found him between the driver’s side of the truck and the building. They moved the vehicle, and a sheriff’s sergeant performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release the man’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of his death.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate what led up to the incident.

LYNNWOOD, WA — A 26-year-old Fikes delivery driver was in critical condition Tuesday after he was pinned between a Fikes box truck and a building near Lynnwood.

The Federal Way man was making a delivery to a business in the 16900 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway. His truck struck a wall around 1:40 p.m.

His co-workers were following behind in a car, said Lt. Rob Martin with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. They found the Federal Way man in the business’ parking lot. He was pinned between the driver’s side of the truck and the wall, Martin said.

They moved the vehicle, and a sheriff’s sergeant performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
