Construction worker Luis Pillcorema died when he was hit by a 2,500-pound beam during building of Cheshire Woods in Ohio





GALENA, OH (WCMH) — Emergency crews have been called to a construction site in Galena after a worker was killed in an accident.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Luis Pillcorema of Columbus died when he was hit by an approximately 2,500-pound beam. Pillcorema was working at a residence under construction in Berkshire Township.

BERKSHIRE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —

A man was killed after an accident on a construction site near Galena.

EMS crews and Sheriff's Deputies responded to the site on Wrenbury Drive early Thursday afternoon after getting reports of an accident. Officials said 34-year-old Luis Pillcorema died after he was struck by an I beam weighing approximately 2500 pounds.

The site in Berkshire Township is part of a new development called Cheshire Woods.

Authorities have not yet released any information about the accident or the worker. OSHA has been called to the site, and authorities say they will have to investigate.
