Worker dies after being pinned between a forklift and a cheese rack at the Sorrento Lactalis cheese factory in Nampa, Idaho

The man was rushed to a Boise hospital Thursday morning after he was pinned between a forklift and a rack at the Sorrento Lactalis cheese factory,officials said.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday evening that the man later died from his injuries. His name and age have not been released, and no information was available from the Ada County Coroner’s Office Thursday night. As of Thursday morning, he was reported in serious condition.

The incident was called in at about 7:30 a.m. at Sorento Lactalis, 4912 E. Franklin Road,
at Franklin and Star roads. Canyon County Sheriff’s deputies found no initial indication that anything criminal occured, Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker said.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be the lead investigator of the fatal workplace incident, he said.
