HOMER GLEN, Ill. (WLS) -- One student was taken the hospital after a school bus accident in Homer Glen, Ill.

The accident happened on Gougar Road around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Will County Sheriff.

The driver told police that he got distracted by his jacket flapping out of an open window. He said he took his eyes off the road for a second and lost control of the bus.

According to the Will County Sheriff, the bus then hit a guard rail then traveled about 20 feet off the roadway.

The student that was taken to Silver Cross Hospital was complaining of shoulder pain. The student is listed in good condition.

Four others were looked at on the scene. All of the other children were taken home by their parents.

The bus company involved is First Student out of Crest Hill, Ill.

The investigation is ongoing.
