3 seriously injured after multi-vehicle crash on I-476 NB in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.





A big crash has shut down a stretch of the Blue Route in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.

LOWER MERION, Pa. (WPVI) -- A major crash shut down a stretch of the Blue Route for hours overnight in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes near the County Line Road overpass.

The crash involved three cars and a tractor-trailer.

Police say three people were trapped in the wreckage and had to be rescued.

A medical helicopter landed on the roadway to take those victims to area hospitals.

They were said to be in serious condition.

All northbound lanes of the Blue Route were back open by 5:30 a.m.
