GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say a 27-year-old woman was left to die on the side of the road after a hit-and-run crash in Galloway Township, New Jersey.

It happened before midnight Tuesday on Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and 6th Avenue.

Police say Aubrey Servis, of Little Egg Harbor, was walking in a crosswalk near the westbound lanes when she was struck.

The driver did not stop, and police are searching for that person and vehicle.

Police say an older model silver SUV, possibly a 90s Chevy Tahoe or Suburban, was traveling west in the left lane and ran a red light.

Servis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The striking vehicle should have front driver side damage, police say.

Route 30 was closed for several hours while police investigated.
